Presently the games are planned to be held from 8-3 during the day with the conference talks from 3-5. This should enable participants to attend the talks without it impacting their games.
For the game days there will be shuttles to and from the games from the Novotel. If your team wishes to go out for dinner or have a team event on the event day then you can also arrange a team shuttle through Spectacular Events (bookings@eventtravel.com.au). If you are traveling locally then there are some public transport options available. Ride share and taxis are also good options in the area.
Organising a WMFC is an expensive undertaking. The Australian Organising Committee want to make the 2024 WMFC the best event possible for everyone. Money goes towards conference venue, facility hire, event staff, equipment and many more things. We have secured some sponsorship but it does not come close to covering the total event cost.
We started planning for the 2024 WMFC from late 2022. We have had to make several deposits for venues and facilities in order to secure everything for the event. Initial team deposits will really help us out in terms of these deposits and expenses that we are currently covering personally.
The Morell cup is the largest competition by far. It has the most cost in terms of field hire, referees, shuttles, gear and many other expenses. Not to mention the squads are often larger in the Morell cup. The Carlito and Women’s events are much smaller in terms of player numbers and facility requirements so their fee is considerably less. The Carlito cup did not have a fee in 2023, however, the costs do need to be distributed amongst all teams so we have introduced the Carlito fee. This is also why we have set a fee for the women’s event, however, it is important to support this so it can grow, so we have made this the smallest team fee.
The Morell cup and Vogel Cup are approximately the same price as previous years (prices are in Australian dollars). The Carlito and Women’s cup will have a fee to share the cost amongst all participants.
At the present calculations the ceremony costs have increased, particularly for the closing ceremony. This is firstly because the ceremonies are being held at a world class function venue. Furthermore, the closing ceremony is planned to have catered table service dinner and a drinks package.

The integrity of the competition is very important. We need to be able to verify that you are a qualified medical doctor. We also need to verify your age. Your portrait photo will be used for team sheets and the website.
We will post portrait photos on the website. Your name and age will also be visible. At the end of the tournament the registration list is passed on to the next hosts. We do not pass on your information to external sources.
